About the Main Speakers
Mrs. Nisrine Yaser Amro
Mrs. Amro holds a BA in English Language and Liter-ature and an MA in Teaching English. She is pres-ently involved in a doctorate program in English lan-guage teaching methods. After having taught at He-bron University and Al Quds Open University, Mrs. Amro became field head at the Ministry of Education (Palestinian National Authority) in the Hebron district, where she subsequently became deputy and director of the district office of the Ministry of Education. She is presently director of the Bethlehem district of the Ministry of Education. She has been also a board/ management member of several Palestinian societies in the fields of mass communication, community buil-ding, arts and education.
Mr. Fuad Giacaman
Mr. Giacaman holds a BA in English Language and Literature. A former senior teacher of English, histo-ry, geography, social studies and Arabic at various schools in Bethlehem (West Bank, Palestine), he subsequently became school principal at the Ecole des Freres in Bethlehem, from 1993 to 2001. He was for some years a teacher of English literature at Beth-lehem University. Besides his work as a teacher and principal, he has been general director of the Arab Educational Institute in Bethlehem from 1986 until 2013, where he is presently co-president and coor-dinator of the project “Living in the Holy Land: Re-specting Differences” about inter-religious education.
